Hahahahaha, lolsob, it is two and a half weeks to get/together 2022. Which for the record is the weekend of 8 and 9 October, with spillover activities Friday 7 and Monday 10 as always. I have been meaning to make this post for ages and have kept getting tripped up by work and family matters, so we have finally broken our previous record, which held strong at three weeks for several years. How lucky I am that you are all such old and experienced hands by now. And now I'm rambling; after all these years on twitter I've forgotten how to behave on a journal!
Anyway! We're going to do signups on dreamwidth this year! How delightfully retro while also somehow a step forward from livejournal. Timey wimey! There will be an old school signup post later today, so brace for that. If you never had a dreamwidth you can use open id if you had a livejournal, or anon-comment with your username in the comment header. Presumably you also have no aching knees or back, so it balances out.
What I need immediately (ideally) is your Y/N on whether you want to come to brunches and dinners so I can inflict bookings on some poor unsuspecting restaurants that have had a few years respite over the covid era. Little did they know. Or they might actually be glad to see us...
1)Probably no brunch Friday this year unless a whole lot of out of towners are arriving early (sound off in the comments if so) Actually probably yes brunch on Friday
2) Do you want to come to dinner on Friday?
3) We will have pizza as usual on Saturday.
4) Do you want to come to dinner on Sunday?
5) Will you be around to have brunch on Monday?
Also! I've seen a lot of chatter on twitter (and in real life, and in airports) about presentations you're planning/already working on, which, go you for being organised, so, uh, please formally sign up in comments to this post and commit to the bit. Tell me what you're doing, your witty title if you have one, and whether you're a 15 or 30 minute slot. Extensions by request, maybe, once we see how packed the timetable is.
That's it for now. Signups later today. Crossposting: obviously I will tweet about this shortly, I will probably copy posts to livejournal out of sentiment and so people who still track comms get reminders but comments will be closed, and I might send out one email to the list if I get time.
[Actually, now that I think about it, this *is* how I used to post on livejournal, complete with plethora of exclamation marks. It's all coming back to me now.]
