They *totally* announced that the tenth season would be the last. Tom Welling commented on it several times. But they're already hedging and the frickin' season hasn't even started.

And yeah, Clark will be fifty years old and by all rights Kingdom Come Superman (ie widowed and retired) and he'll still be capeless and whining about his angst.
