Accommodation Post

I know there was some vague disgruntlement with the Brentwood last year, and venue wise we're still based in Seatoun, so it may be just as easy (but cheaper) to stay at a hostel in town rather than the hotel in Kilbirnie. I won't repost all the info, but if you look back through the accommodation tag most of it's been discussed there at some point.

Feel free to use the comments to this post to look for room mates/discuss available options.

I know Team Auckland A, ie the Extended House of Trolling, had success with renting a house last year, so it may be worth talking to them if a few of you would like to go in together on an option like that. shihadchick, would you consider making a comment here about your experiences and any recommendations?

Team Australia A is staying with me at the Pixie Palace, and I think jamethiel_bane is venturing out to the Shire. the_antichris are you at your sister's?

I think my group was fine with Brentwood and decided the buses to the Church Hall were fairly easy.

I'm checking in with Mab (who is checking with others) but we'll most likely give Brentwood a try again. Unless it is all booked as I'm so late getting the go-ahead this year...

hey :) count me out this year, at least for the moment. if i am able to come, i won't know for sure until a week or two before. then i'll just have to take my chances with finding somewhere to stay.

Sorry to hear but be sure to check with me if you are able to come after all. So far it's just Mab and me in a quad. Jasmine is a maybe and no word from Carol so I assume not. So while I'm working on first come basis, we aren't full yet!

We have requested a place on AirBnB but also fair warning there's very slim pickings there, too, atm, so if anyone did want to I'd encourage them to book FAST. Fingers crossed the people we requested accept the booking; once we know for sure about that I'll come back to update more specifically/helpfully. Though happy to field qs about both airbnb and holidayhouses.co.nz if anyone would like!

Team Brentwood

So far only Mab and I are confirmed coming but I have reserved a quad room at the Brentwood for Fri and Sat nights so we can take two more. I'm still waiting for final yes/no from Elaine and Jasmine but they aren't looking likely. :-( No word at all from Carol to my knowledge. Anyone with more info?

Claire has kindly offered me space Sunday night as half of team Auckland are leaving then (Thanks again!)

Still waiting for definite decision so not sure of space but, yes, we'd be happy to include her if they don't want the beds. Course if everyone says yes after all then not sure what we'll do. Try and see if hotel has another room, I guess. Can only wait and see!

Yep - cousin is off visiting the grandkids for school holidays, cousin-in-law has offered Sunday night & visit to aunt, so Team Brentwood is +1 for Fri and Sat.
