I always want fic! I love having more gay canon ships and it makes my heart sing. Discourse in fandom is eternal and eternally stupid so I always try to mostly have fun with friends I know. I rarely if ever interact with broader fandom.

Sadly I cannot attend this year but I do like both manga and horror! I am currently reading BL Metamorphosis and What DId You Eat Yesterday, and am also grumpy that after waiting YEARS for v15 of Kurosagi Corpse Delivery Service I can now only get it as a 3 in 1 with two volumes I already have (and I even have 2 copies of v14 because I got confused about where I was up to).

I'm so sorry, I just saw this!! My dreamwidth emails must be acting up. What Did You Eat Yesterday is such a masterpiece, I'm glad you're experiencing it. I haven't read Kurosagi Delivery Service; what is it about? besides, uh, presumably delivering corpses

I hope you're enjoying get/together! I couldn't make it this year.

I have all of What Did You Eat Yesterday from 1-17 except volume 8, which is hopefully arriving soon! It's definitely my favourite Yoshinaga series (although I do have a sneaking fondness for the Antique Bakery editions with the scratch&sniff covers).

Kurosagi is horror; it's a bunch of underachieving university graduates, most of whom have some sort of strange real or unreal power (dowsing for corpses, hacking, seeing ghosts, being possessed by a hand puppet who is actually a foul-mouthed alien etc), who team up to sort out problems with dead bodies. It is black comedy and also has the most amazing translation notes that really dig into (!) the context and world of the stories. (it's the only manga I've seen even attempt to deal with Japan's WWII medical experimentation units, although most of their storylines are contemporary)
