Last minute instructions
Yeehah.
I was going to say something very rude about lj and how it's eating comments, but then I remembered my joy at being back and thought I'd better not tempt fate. Sorry, good buddy.
So.
With regard to the weather...
I tend to view weather forecasts with a great deal of skepticism. It really hasn't been that cold. Though there have been a couple of spectacular rainstorms. I've been wearing a t-shirt all week, and apart from the one time I froze in driving rain at the bus stop, I've been comfortable. Note that I am *not* telling you not to bring jerseys and jackets. I'm just saying it's not Antarctica. And the thermostat inside my house said it was 25 degrees yesterday afternoon. That's internal, not external, temperature, but still.
Gear wise...
Aussies, I'm making up the spare beds for you. You told me you don't mind sharing, and I've taken you at your word. So no equipment required other than what you need for the road trip?
Aucklanders, chances are I have enough blankets to make up the couches as well. But if you want to bring a sleeping bag that'd be cool.
I certainly have enough towels etc for everyone.
Foodwise, china and I are shopping this afternoon, including gluten free spaghetti etc as required. I'm not sure whether to assume you'll be smuggling in cheap plonk a la sinpozium?
Address. I'll email it out this afternoon, and text sethra who'll be on the road. It's an easy bus ride from the Railway Station for those of you coming by bus and train, and a short taxi ride from the airport. There should be no difficulty.
I think that's it for now. No doubt I will remember something else as soon as I hit send.
Ah. Just did.
We think we'll start at 9am on Saturday. Nothing like getting up bright and early and getting into the swing of things. Obviously if you're at the Rail at the crack of dawn, have a coffee then get the first bus up, don't malinger longer than you have to.
Right. Now I do think that's all.
