My definition of slash is: interpreting media with a same-sex focus, subtextual or textual (does that even make sense? I've been drinking)

I like slash because: it's hot, and shiny, and is made of awesome. And fandom is made of awesome (people, that is)

I discovered slash by: I was desperate for more Krycek-centric fic, and read slash despite thinking it involved people cutting each other (it was X-Files fandom, it was totally plausible).

My bullet proof kink: wake up married/arranged marriage, coming out/getting outed, pining

My major league squick: incest, underage, major power imbalances, humilitation

My guilty pleasure: I came here to make you dance tonight/I don't care if I'm a guilty pleasure for you/shut up/cause we won't stop/we're getting down til the sun's coming up

I first found out about (my first) g/t from/by: um...arysteia and china_shop and vaudevilles, I assume. Though I couldn't make it to the 1st one. I've been to #2 and #3 though.

The first is about 80% complete, and the second I'm thinking about working on, but am pondering that I should finish sobering up first.

Hi all!

You may have wondered just where the hell I've been and what the hell's been going on. If so, check out the TL;DR.

Anyway, I'll be making up for that with a flurry of posting over the next couple of days. First up is Registration Forms, so I can firm up numbers. So without any further ado. Please cut and paste this into a comm post of your own (remember to post to the comm, not your own lj, *vbg*). Feel free to flock as preferred.

My definition of slash is: Subtext rendered text. Homoerotic tensions brought to the fore. Good times.

I like slash because: If one guy is hot, two is hotter. Seriously. I'll be in my bunk. Also, we get to explore the emotional stuff we never get to see onscreen since men are so damn tough. It's not *always* about the NC-17. PG can be awesome too. I've been known to cry.

I discovered slash by: First mention ever? Was in the non-fiction History of Trek. Apparently it was something crazy forty year old women in the Flyover States did. I thought it sounded gross and they sounded crazy, which was no doubt what the author was gunning for, *g*. First read ever? Staying the night at my BFF's house, sleeping in her older sister's room, I picked up the fanzine on her bedside table. Blake's 7. Yowza. I didn't really know the characters, but hoyay, huh? And thus the scales fell from my eyes. That was twenty years ago, how time flies.

My major league squick: Cross-generational incest. Partner rape. Infidelity. Humiliation.
