By saying in my last post that I was technically on schedule I jinxed myself and am now, by four days, officially the latest ever in terms of organisation. BUT. You all know what you're doing. So. Expect a barrage of updates today. And then do your part. :D

Hi all, we are extraordinarily late with all our regular posts this year, but I choose to believe it's just because we're all such dab hands by now, rather than that I was feeling so harrassed by the Demon Headmaster I couldn't even think straight let alone organise anything fun.

"For group accommodation I have reserved rooms in the Brentwood Hotel in Kilbirnie.

Room: 4 x Quad rooms (can be split into 4 x single beds per room)
Tariff: $155.00 per room/night -- rate covers 2 people, then $35.00 per person thereafter.

(Which is better than in previous years as for those rooms without four people we get a lower price.)

In the past we’ve either split the total per night evenly between all people regardless of rooms, or a group handles all charges for a single room for the weekend. I’m good either way and we can decide on the weekend.

The Brentwood has a free airport shuttle: 'For a pick up please call us on 0508 273 689 once you have collected your luggage and we will pick you up outside the Arrivals Terminal (downstairs). Drop offs can be arranged with Reception.'

I’d like to know by Sunday 21 September if you want a space, as I will cancel unneeded rooms so as to not get charged!

For those not wanting in on this hotel booking, I can recommend the YHA in the city. But you will need to book soon as it is Wearable Arts weekend."

And holy hell, where did the time go? I'm sure it was just yesterday I was congratulating myself on being efficient and Getting Things Done.

Right then.

First official post of the 2008 season.

Dates: Main event Sat 4th and Sun 5th October. Welcome dinner, gossip, vids etc Fri 3rd for those who have already arrived.

Accommodation: Nomads Capital. It's a very nice, very new, hostel smack in the centre of down-town Wellington. What we hope to do, ideally, is put together groups and book the rooms so noone gets accidentally left off like happened last year. Prices are $31 per person for an Ensuite Quad, $23 for a ten bed dorm, and various combos in between. I can poll to see which options you favour when we get a stronger idea of numbers.

Venue: At the moment we are strongly leaning towards the Arts Centre, which is also smack centre of town. Location location. This is to be confirmed with the worst secretary in the world (TM).

Costs: To be confirmed when venue is confirmed, but looking very reasonable. Self catered this year, so basic venue and admin costs only.

This sucks. I wont be able to come over and I was really looking forward to it. I hope you all have tons of fun. I just didnt manage to save up enough and frequent flyers have no flights on that weekend. The plus side, I do have some money saved up for when Backstreet tour.
