What handles do you go by, and where are we most likely to find you?
Kiwisue on lj/dw, kwsci5 on tumblr, diplomaticimmunity on twitter. I've been hibernating/lurking most of this year for work reasons, although I did grab an imzy account as kiwisue.

What handles do you go by, and where are we most likely to find you?
tamarillow on lj, dw, tumblr and twitter, and willowberry on AO3 and pinboard, although I just bookmark on AO3. I've been thinking about getting an Imzy, but I have been to lazy so far.

Are you a reader, a writer, an artist, a vidder, a gamer, a lurker, all of the above, or something else entirely?
I read and lurk pretty much.

Wax lyrical about your current fandoms and OTPs:
I keep going back to marvel, naruto, star wars and harry potter lately. But can still be lured into most fandoms by a really good fic.

Reminisce with one perfect crystal emo tear for the ship that sank or the fandom that finally faded away:
I still really miss giant uber fandoms; will we ever get another Stargate Atlantis?

Any squicks or kinks (be clear which is which, *g*):
Hate noncon, can be persuaded on most kinks with the right fic.

Fannish highlight of your year:
For once get together has competition as my fannish highlight! 2Fast2Forty was pretty great.

Favourite new show/movie/comic/book/source text since last year:
I'm enjoying Ursula Vernon's new serial novel so far: http://www.redwombatstudio.com/portfolio/summer-in-orcus/. And http://the-comfortable-courtesan.dreamwidth.org/ remains awesome.

Favourite AO3/tumblr/twitter tag:
#lawschoolruinslives is pretty great!

Where do you do the bulk of your fannish interaction? Is there a hotbed of awesome out there that someone might be missing out on? Any specific comms or tumblrs or rec sites or tags we should be following?
In person, AO3, pinboard, twitter, tumblr *shrugs*

Are you taking part in Yuletide or Festivids this year? Are there any other fantastic exchanges we should all know about?
No.

Any thoughts/comments/memories you’d like to add to last year’s anniversary reminiscences?
I'm really glad we found out about Get Together. The bowling club was quite fun too - to wander over to the windows and watch the bowls between presentations. Very cold though!

Tea, Coffee, Homogenised Milk, Calci Trim?
Tea, Coffee and Homogenised milk please.

Coke, Diet Coke, Coke Zero, Lemonade, Juice?
Juice.

Crudités or Junk?
I have to pick?

Sour cream dips or hummus?
Hummus.

Favourite chip flavour:
Salt and vinegar is the only chip.

Please note one major change to proceedings this year: Due to circumstances beyond our control, and for reasons that don't need exploring at this juncture, we were unable to secure the hall for the full day on Sunday. As rescheduling was impossible we have elected to try out a different approach, and are running extended hours on Saturday instead. At the moment we plan to return to "normal procedure" next year, but we will also be seeking feedback, and if anyone particularly enjoys this year's timings we will take that into account in future planning.

As usual, these time stamps are indicative, and some leeway has been built in in places to allow for inevitable overrun.

A couple of changes this year, to match the changes to the timetable. We'll be seeking feedback as to how these compare to previous staples, and revising accordingly next year. Thanks for your cooperation and enthusiasm as we try new things!

1) The main venue remains unchanged, though operational hours are different:

Seatoun Village Hall: 10am – 8pm Saturday, 10am – 2pm Sunday
22 Forres Street, Seatoun

Previously known as the Saint Christopher's Parish Hall, but still the same place. The church (yellow stickered) is on the corner of Forres and Ventnor Streets, the hall is next door. There's plenty of parking in the street outside for anyone driving. Anyone getting the bus from town should get the Seatoun 11, and get out at the Dundas Street shops.

2) We're officially having lunch rather than brunch on Friday, though in practice it will still involve me having first and second breakfast as successive waves of people drift in from the airport/elsewhere. We're trying somewhere new:

Basque: 12 noon Friday
8 Courtenay Place, Wellington

After our discovery of what a fantastic Build a Brunch menu Basque does during our #fataugust shenanigans, there was a unanimous call to hold g/t brunch here. They open at noon, which should give everyone coming from morning flights time to get into town. Almost any bus from Kilbirnie will get you to Courtenay Place, and we'll be lingering quite a while over our giant platters.

3) I think we met for cocktails for the first time last year, and that seemed to go pretty well, so we're doing that again:

Library Bar: 4pm Friday
53 Courtenay Place, Wellington (upstairs)

Join us for after work/after flight/pre dinner cocktails. [livejournal.com profile] meelie and I will be heading down early, but drift in as and when you prefer. We'll head out again about 6.30.

4) We toyed, as we sometimes do, with a change here, but a chorus shouted TRADITION and I could not defy them:

Oaks Noodle House: 7pm Friday
71 Cuba Street, Wellington (upstairs)

From the sublime to the ridiculous, our "cheap and cheerful" mainstay of twelve years' counting. The ambiance is terrible but the food is good, lightning fast, and they happily put up with the racket of fifteen to twenty fangirls who haven't seen each other in months.

4a) Depending on energy levels (mine have been known to flag of late):

Olive: 8.30pm Friday
170 Cuba Street, Wellington

TBC, but night owls/late arrivals have been known to go on for dessert and more drinks after dinner. Play this one by ear!

5) The major change this year; since we'll be finishing early on Sunday, we're going to go for drinks, snacks, and more conversation before dinner:

The Cutting Café and Bar/Long Thai Restaurant: 3pm Sunday
32 Miramar Avenue, Miramar (bar downstairs, restaurant upstairs)

This amusing hybrid establishment hides a great Thai restaurant above a somewhat rustic bar. We'll hang out downstairs for a while, then venture on upstairs for dinner. Join us for either or both.

6) And finally, a farewell brunch for those still in town and/or avoiding work:

Fidel's: 11am Monday
234 Cuba Street, Wellington

We'll malinger here as always, but remember to wear a jumper, it can be windy outside!

The biggest and most significant change to note here is that as we are pushing on into the evening on Saturday, instead of breaking up at 6pm and heading out to dinner, we've decided to have a "pizza party" of sorts during Pub Quiz. I have no compunction about using my school marm skillset to make myself heard while the wild masses eat, so it should still work out. Make sure you study your fandom vocabulary, history, and statistics. ;-p

In the interests of smooth running, can everyone please acquaint themselves before Saturday with the Hell Pizza menu and think about what they are likely to want, so we can phone in an order during the afternoon tea break. It would also be great if you could bring something approximating the correct money, and I'll make sure to stop off at the Four Square on my way to get some small change. (Meelie, remind me to do this!)

Obviously if you're a late eater and you'd rather wait till 8pm and eat after, feel free to do so. Also, there are some kitchen facilities available, so if you would prefer to bring something from home that's fine too.

On Sunday you are of course free to head off about your own business after we've put the hall to rights, but most of us will be making our way down to Miramar Cutting (which I shamefully only figured out six months ago is called that because they cut through the hill range) to have drinks and nibbles at the Cutting Bar, and then eventually dinner at the Long Thai. Again, stay for as little or as long as you'd like.

As far as lunches go, we have a one hour lunch break scheduled on both days. The Dundas Street shops are fairly rudimentary -- the Four Square is definitely a superette rather than a supermarket, so good for snacks/sundries but not great for food shopping. There is a fish and chip shop (very nice), and a cafe (okay but slightly pricey) in the immediate vicinity.

If you're up for a ten minute walk then it's an easy stroll back to Strathmore (just through the tunnel) where there is a bakery/cafe, another fish and chip shop (more run of the mill), a Chinese takeaway, and an Indian place.

Obviously you can also bring a packed lunch from home if that is your preference, and we will have our usual assortment of snacks available throughout the day.
