Registration Form 2014
Sep. 9th, 2014 06:34 pmThis year’s rego is in two parts: the first is similar to years past, the second is aimed more at the whole anniversary extravaganza thing. If some of the answers down there are lost to time feel free to leave them out, but that probably means you’ll be at the mercy of my reminiscing when I perform the epic History of Get Together in dactylic hexameter, so try to take a guess. Maybe we can crowd source the truth, *g*. It always gives me joy to read these things, and it’s been doubly edifying this year re-reading old ones. We were all so young and carefree once… Hey, remember that time we had live readings of explicit fic in my dining room? Remember when people got drunk and broke my chairs? Remember the capoeira drummers?
ETA: Now that I’ve filled mine out I’ve discovered that I was pretty verbose with some answers, and while I contemplated editing I’ve decided to leave it that way. You certainly don’t have to do the same if you don’t want to, but if you’ve got something to say and half an hour to kill, then please do. This kind of long form rambling is something we’ve mostly lost and something I miss, much as twitter is now the medium of my heart.
Registration Form 2014
1) The Fannish Basics
Who are you and where can we find you (preferred name/user names across your preferred platforms/where you’re most active):
Are you a reader, a writer, an artist, a vidder, a lurker, all of the above, or something else entirely:
Wax lyrical about your current fandoms and OTPs:
Reminisce with one perfect crystal emo tear for the ship that sank or the fandom that finally faded away:
Any squicks or kinks (be clear which is which, *g*):
Fannish highlight of your year:
Favourite new show/movie/comic/source text since last year:
Favourite AO3/tumblr/twitter tag:
Where do you do the bulk of your fannish interaction? Is there a hotbed of awesome out there that someone might be missing out on? Any specific comms or tumblrs or rec sites or tags we should be following?
Are you taking part in Yuletide or Festivids this year? Are there any other fantastic exchanges we should all know about?
2) The G/T Advanced Section
How many g/t’s have you been to?
How did you hear about your very first one/from whom/whose lj flist were you on?
Have you ever done a presentation at g/t? What was it? (Especially if it was in Year 1, 2, or 3, for which records are slightly murky.)
Best g/t memory ever (or that you can remember right this minute):
Thoughts on how Fandom (capital F deliberate) has changed over the last decade:
Thoughts on how fandom (your more personal experience of it) has changed over the last decade:
If you’re one of our Venerated Foremothers (ie have stories to tell that pre-date the ark, or at least the internet) please share:
Any other comments worthy of being preserved for posterity in this banner year:
