1) The Fannish Basics

Are you a reader, a writer, an artist, a vidder, a lurker, all of the above, or something else entirely: I am a reader! And a connoisseur of vids :)

Wax lyrical about your current fandoms and OTPs: WINTERSOLDIERWINTERSOLDIERWINTERSOLDIER cough cough I'm sorry. I am currently surfing the cap 2 tsunami of fic of Steve/Bucky, while dabbling in teen wolf Stiles/Derek (when I need a break from brackish water!) and hannibal (SO MUCH TERRIBLE ALPHA BETA FIC SO MUCH ALL TERRIBLE). HockeyRPF

Reminisce with one perfect crystal emo tear for the ship that sank or the fandom that finally faded away: I stay good friends with all my ex's! Except pop fandom. I now find most of that fic unreadable, alas.

Any squicks or kinks (be clear which is which, *g*): I don't like hooker fic, I am not a fan of angst and I have a severe 2nd hand embarrasment squick to the point where i will close my eyes and lah lah lah loudly during scenes in movies and tv shows.

Fannish highlight of your year: Cap 2 was pretty big.

Favourite new show/movie/comic/source text since last year: Captain America 2: the winter soldier

Favourite AO3/tumblr/twitter tag: I really dont surf tags that much? I subscribe to pairing names on Pinboard mostly

Where do you do the bulk of your fannish interaction? Is there a hotbed of awesome out there that someone might be missing out on? Any specific comms or tumblrs or rec sites or tags we should be following?: Twitter is were I am talking to people currently, Slashers meet-up in Sydney first Saturday of every month, that's about it?

Are you taking part in Yuletide or Festivids this year? Are there any other fantastic exchanges we should all know about?: nope, sorry!

2) The G/T Advanced Section

How many g/t’s have you been to?: uhhhh 5? let me think. one at stately luthor manor where i made an awesome white board full of fannish stick figures which was 2005? 2006 cause Al and i did a trip after. not 2007 I was in Canada! 2008 i was in Scotland! 2009 YES RETURN OF MEELIE. i think i skipped 2010 due to work maybe DID I GO IN 2010 I DONT KNOW? 2011 yes! 2012 yes! 2013 yes! so 6! definitely 6 out of 10 PASSING GRADE WOOHOO

How did you hear about your very first one/from whom/whose lj flist were you on?: I met V and China Shop at sinpoz! and then they stole that idea and made their own ;P

Have you ever done a presentation at g/t? What was it? (Especially if it was in Year 1, 2, or 3, for which records are slightly murky.): I've done Arrow! and al and I did a panel on naming conventions(who gets to be on top in a pairing name) and I think I pimped teen wolf FOR MY SINS

Best g/t memory ever (or that you can remember right this minute): In the resturant speaking so loudly about Charles and Erik that someone in the bathroom said they could hear me yelling BROS BEFORE HUMANS. which then became my twitter nickname for ages :)

Thoughts on how Fandom (capital F deliberate) has changed over the last decade: Less interactive? Faster. People get stuff out so much faster. And Easier! you want that show BOOM you have that show. Remember tape angels?

Thoughts on how fandom (your more personal experience of it) has changed over the last decade: I think my experience is that my fannish friends are now straight up friends. I am still pretty bad with fannish interaction unless I have met the person but now I know so many people :)

If you’re one of our Venerated Foremothers (ie have stories to tell that pre-date the ark, or at least the internet) please share: nope, not really? I was a Lone Fangirl for most of my teens.
