1) The Fannish Basics

Wax lyrical about your current fandoms and OTPs: BUCKY BARNES IS A GODDAMN PROBLEM. *ahem* Completely obsessed with Captain America Steve/Bucky at the moment. Still very fond of Stiles/Derek from Teen Wolf, Thor/Loki from MCU, and Kirk/Spock from Star Trek (both TOS and AOS). I also dabble in Sherlock Holmes/John Watson (ACD-verse, RDJ-verse, and BBC), Jensen/Cougar from The Losers, Peter/Neal and Peter/Neal/Elizabeth from White Collar, Parker/Hardison/Eliot from Leverage, and Troy/Abed from Community. I also adored the Season 1 relationship between Oliver Queen/John Diggle from Arrow, but I haven't seen Season Two, so I don't know if it holds up.

Reminisce with one perfect crystal emo tear for the ship that sank or the fandom that finally faded away: Unfortunately, the death of Paul Walker has made the Fast and Furious fandom a place of sadness for me. But my Dom/Brian love was strong back in the day. Also, I was a huge Reese/Finch shipper, but Person of Interest lost my trust after a certain event in Season 3. It has not managed to win back my affection, but I haven't totally closed myself off to the possibility of a fannish resurgence.

Any squicks or kinks (be clear which is which, *g*): Squicks: infidelity, misogyny, animal harm. Most BDSM bores me, unless it serves a clear character purpose. Kinks: mpreg (in a big way), dubcon/noncon, hurt/comfort, kidfic, and something I just discovered last year in BBC Sherlock: infantilisation (where a character pretends to be a baby and wears diapers). Oh, the places that fandom will take you! LOL

Fannish highlight of your year: Vividcon (annual vid convention) is always a huge highlight. I also enjoy our monthly Chicago fangirl brunches. This get/together and the accompanying visit with

arysteia are going to be the peak of 2014, I think. :)

Favourite new show/movie/comic/source text since last year: Captain America 2.

Favourite AO3/tumblr/twitter tag: Captain America (Movies) on AO3. Other than that, I don't really use tags.

Where do you do the bulk of your fannish interaction? Is there a hotbed of awesome out there that someone might be missing out on? Any specific comms or tumblrs or rec sites or tags we should be following? I post very sporadically to LJ/DW. Most of my fannish activity is on Twitter, Tumblr, and Pinboard. I mostly reblog on Tumblr and Pinboard, and I follow about 500 people on Tumblr (seriously), so I'm not the best at fannish selectivity.

Are you taking part in Yuletide or Festivids this year? Are there any other fantastic exchanges we should all know about? No exchanges for me this year--I'm in a bit of a vidding slump at the moment.

2) The G/T Advanced Section

How many g/t’s have you been to? This will be my first. Yay!!

How did you hear about your very first one/from whom/whose lj flist were you on? I was always jealous when

arysteia would post about g/t, so I'm very happy to finally attend one.

Have you ever done a presentation at g/t? What was it? (Especially if it was in Year 1, 2, or 3, for which records are slightly murky.) No, but I think I'm doing one this year.

Thoughts on how Fandom (capital F deliberate) has changed over the last decade: I agree with others who say that Fandom feels very scattered right now. If I hadn't been on LJ/DW for 10+ years and built up a huge community of friends there, I think I would be more worried about fannish isolation. As it is, I have enough people that I feel reasonably close to that I always have someone to chat with, and I never feel lonely. Frankly, the shortform wordbursts of Twitter suit me quite well, as does the passive reblogging I do on Tumblr.
