Team work makes the dream work!
Sep. 7th, 2019 12:33 pmIt's been forever since a new fandom ate fandom, but I saw plenty of you enjoying plenty of things over the last year. Now is your chance to spread the wisdom, share the wealth, or just plain take advantage of the fact there's no filter on real life to get inside the bunker.
As always, reminiscing about old fandoms is also welcome, whether they've gotten a reboot, you've recently done a rewatch, or you're simply feeling nostalgic for some reason. Got your own version of my Inevitable Smallville Renaissance? (I think
stickmarionette and I might be Inevitably X-Men-ing...)
Got a hot topic to discuss? Mod a discussion yourself if you want to, or just brainstorm questions you'd like to see considered. I'll allocate more time if there's a lot people want to cover, though you all know how the timetable tends to buckle by Sunday afternoon.
Fannish taster platters: Over the last couple of years we've had a few cool "mini" pimps, maybe for first timers who've never presented before, or for little tidbits you want to introduce but don't think you can put together a whole presentation on. Please do think seriously about whether your five minutes is going to morph into ten or fifteen, in which case you should snag a proper slot, but if you've got something teeny you want to throw out there without any pressure, then let me know.
Volunteer in comments to this post, or @ or DM me on twitter.
Please also feel free to think outside the box – we've had a few quite different presentations recently, in the form of historical/literary primers, art and audio presentations, monsterfucking polls, etc, all of which were wonderful, and warmly received. The official g/t definition of fannish content is "friends and fellow fans will be interested in seeing/hearing this", so if you're not sure please do ask.

Date: 2019-09-07 07:48 am (UTC)Please put me in for 30min on She-Ra (more likely to go under than over on this one), and vaguely pencil in 30min on Charmed (reboot) if I get my shit together adequately? (I suspect I will know for sure about that one in like 2 weeks ifthat's not too infuriating.)
