Friends, Romans, Countrymen, lend me your reckons! I come to use livejournal as an archive repository, not to overwhelm it and crash the robust, Russia dwelling, servers.

THIS WILL BE THE ONLY SIGN UP/REGISTRATION/VOLUNTEER/RESTAURANT BOOKING/PIZZA ORDER POST OF 2020. DO EVERYTHING HERE.

There will be a hard cut off of Thursday October 1 to sign up, order pizza, confirm attendance at dinner, pay your subs etc. This is not a drill, if you are habitually late signing up or rsvping for things, do not do that this year. I am not willing to make extra difficulties for essential workers in this year of our trials and tribulations 2020.

There will be an update email going out shortly, and likely another later in the week, and as always up to the minute updates will go out on twitter. There will also be at least one more post here with final confirmation of times, venues, and event timetables.

Please fill out the following form as a top level comment to this post. (You can, of course, converse as you wish in replies to each other.) If you can't log in, just put your public pseud in the subject line. Don't worry about overthinking stuff, it's just rorshach blots and pub quiz fodder. Obviously if your presentation is still evolving you can give a general indication here and add detail later.

One true undying, always returning, forever fandom and/or OTP: XMen and Cherik. Also Hobbit, and Merlin, and Harry Potter is calling me back frick.

Fandoms cruelly cast by the wayside: I never really give up on a fandom, it's always laying dormant, ready for me to obsess over with fellow nerds.

The best fic of all time is: I'm really bad with names of fics, though there is one Xmen fic Nine, Eleven, Ten by Subtilior. It's not finished, bu fuck is it good.

The best vid of all time is: Again names, also I don't watch a huge amount of vids.

I discovered fandom by: I was like 11, so like 17 years ago. I don't really remember. I think I googled Lord of the Rings and found yahoo groups, which lead to fanfiction.net, which lead to livejournal.

I discovered g/t by: Someone I follow on tumblr is an organiser of Escapade, They mentioned that slash cons were dying out and posted the fanlore list of ongoing slash cons, I checked it out with the intention of planning a trip to the US to go to one AND SAW THERE WAS A NEW ZEALAND ONE. I cried when I realised I could have been going all this time.

I am a writer/reader/artist/podficcer/reccer/archivist/lurker etc: Mostly a lurker. Have written a couple of fics, with plans to write more. Also have plans for making some rec lists but we shall see. I'm good at ideas actually following through, not so much

Hello! Welcome.

No, you've done it right. I know this comm is probably hard to figure out now for newcomers -- with (almost) everyone having moved off livejournal we don't post like we used to. There would have been twenty or thirty posts in a year, back in the day, compared to maybe three now. But I got your mailing list sign up so that's good. Basically, as long as you know where and when to show up, you're golden. I will be posting/emailing to confirm all those details soon, but if you've been backreading it's very similar to last year.
