Y'know, y'all are way too obsessed with the goshdarn boots...

No seriously, I'm clearly going to have to wear them that weekend.

FMOF is a policy I ran the first year where (almost) everyone had to take ten or fifteen minutes to make a presentation about their fandom. You could opt out if someone was covering yours already and you were happy to just squee. It's a way of giving quieter fen a guaranteed moment, ensuring everyone at least recognises every fandom, and making sure the most popular fandoms don't carry all before them. Plus also informative! I learnt a lot from [livejournal.com profile] stickmarionette's presentation on yaoi/manga/anime ect ect, for example.

I always worry about whether "the quiet ones" are just lapping up the goodness, or secretly feeling resentful. Plus also it's easy for the fandom du jour (which isn't always the one you expect - I was very surprised at how Smallville clawed its way back against Atlantis last year, for example) to hog the limelight.

Plus I love [powerpoint, and any excuse for a slideshow is a good one in my book. I have templates and all. ;-p
