I don't want to get too cocky about it though because when it gets cancelled (surely soon?) I will inevitably binge the last couple seasons. also I did watch the Felicia Day episode. But I've been fic-free for two years!

No, my darling, no, I'm afraid not. It's been picked up to season 10, just like Smallville. I will watch it all too, just like I am working my way through the excrescence that is SV. (SPN was almost always a better show than SV, problematica aside.)

god almighty. you know it's not even SPN or even SV that I get mad about *that* much - Stargate got 10 seasons and I like every one of them, I'm willing to accept a similarity - but the *injustice* is what gets me. Parks & Rec and Community are struggling yet SPN is a shoo-in renewal? I can't even.

I'm pretty sure it's the highest rated show on the CW, and *they* are struggling. They've not yet hit their stride again after SV, so it was the only successor.

okay, that actually makes sense, although I'm surprised the Vampire Diaries and ANTM don't outdraw it. But they don't seem to have a lot else going for them, it's true - shows that I've been thinking of in my head as "CW shows" are, it turns out, not (Teen Wolf and Revenge).

honestly? knotting itself doesn't squick me at all. what really DOES squick me is when the knotter knows it's coming and there's no, like, negotiation or warning, just "we're mates let me stick it to you"; and that happens a lot in some fandoms *cough* TEEN WOLF *cough*, and that makes me super-wary of it.

basically: fandom should write more negotiation scenes!
