Wax lyrical about your current fandoms and OTPs: They are embarrassingly the same fandoms and OTPs that they have always been. Semper fidelis and all that. (The Sentinel, The Professionals, Starsky and Hutch, Maiden Rose, if there are any new people this year.)

Reminisce with one perfect crystal emo tear for the ship that sank or the fandom that finally faded away: I'm enjoying my daughter's somewhat nervous anticipation of the X-Files reboot. I became an ex-phile many a year ago now.

Any squicks or kinks (be clear which is which, *g*): RPF continues to be something I don't do. A/B/O and anything smacking of determined biological destiny needs a good writer to convince me. Otherwise, I take it as it comes. Give me all your *believable* tragic misunderstandings.

Fannish highlight of your year: Get Together, of course. Also, at long, long last, The Sentinel is available on commercial DVD. That $229 Fed-Ex shipping option is a stumbling block, but I have a cunning plan....

Favourite new show/movie/comic/source text since last year: I continue to enjoy MCU in a 'I don't actually care, but goddam it's fun' kind of way.

Favourite AO3/tumblr/twitter tag: The plain, simple, informative ones. Get off my lawn, etc etc.

Where do you do the bulk of your fannish interaction? Is there a hotbed of awesome out there that someone might be missing out on? Any specific comms or tumblrs or rec sites or tags we should be following? I am fairly equally spread out along LJ, DW, AO3, Tumblr and the occasional Yahoo list. Bloody hell, I'm old.

Are you taking part in Yuletide or Festivids this year? Are there any other fantastic exchanges we should all know about? I'm doing two fandom Big Bangs this year, otherwise all is peace.

Any thoughts/comments/memories you’d like to add to last year’s anniversary reminiscences? Nothing comes to mind. Otoh I keep coming back, right?

Please excuse my threadjacking like this, but would NZ Post's Youshop help? They act as a freight forwarder and i would say would DEFINITELY be cheaper than that.

The shipping estimate I'm getting for Sydney is $70 - steep but not ludicrous. Not sure whether to preorder with their discount offer, or wait and see what happens.

I realized I hadn't read through folks' registrations yet...

Are the TS disks out by end of October? Because I'm back in Dallas for a family wedding on the 24th and I'm happy to act as mule. Husband gets two suitcases on AirNZ Gold and I get one so we usually stock up on stuff to bring back.

If not then, daughter will be back in NZ from LA for December/Christmas. And back again probably May. So there are several options.

I can also discuss this with you tomorrow...

Just to confirm, in print, the disks are pre-ordered. I'll update you when they ship!

We can sort out price/payments later - I'm not in any kind of rush. Once I get the credit stmt I'll know exchange rate charged anyway so best to wait.
