Ok, I promised Lyn I would do this. Plus I kinda need to do this. So I was perusing my shelves, looking to see what dvds I can bring and I got the great idea to maybe actually ask! So, behind the cut is the shortlist of things I can bring. I can't burn dvds at home, but I am bringing blank ones. I'm sure with the amount of computers that are going to be there (I'm guessing) that it will all work out in the end. Um, this is going to be a long list. Just in case anybody wants anything.

High School/ College series. AKA Nostalgia Run
Freaks and Geeks - 80's High school series, produced by Judd Apatow. Cancelled way too early.
Undeclared - college series starring Charlie Hunnam, Jay Baruchel and a variety of Freaks and Geeks alumni. Produced by Judd Apatow, cancelled way too early (seeing a pattern?).
My So-Called Life - just for Jordan Catalano, leaning
Degrassi Junior High

ViewAskewniverse
I've got all the movies on dvd, but this one is the most important.

An Evening with Kevin Smith - hands down, the funniest thing I have ever seen *ever*. If you even like this man a tiny bit, you need to see this movie.

Hewlett Hotness. AKA Movies with David Hewlett in them that my family keep on buying me.
I'm sure people have seen every one of these movies, but meh, what the hell.
Cube
Ice Men
Where The Heart Is
Nothing

Random AKA. Maybe someone's interested
Queer as Folk UK - Definitive Collection - I have a thing for Charlie Hunnam.
Carnivale - creepy supernatural apocalyptic Great Depression incestual carnival drama thing...
Hackers - wet, pixie haired, young Angelina Jolie. Nuff said.
The Chronicles of Narnia - I dont know if anyone is in the new Narnia fandom, but this is the old BBC version. It includes The Lion, The Witch and The Wardrobe, The Voyage of the Dawn Treader, Prince Caspian and The Silver Chair.
The Graham Norton Effect - featuring Seth Green, Alan Cumming and Paul Rudd. I got it mainly for these three and man it rocks pretty hard. All he and Alan Cumming talk about is cock rings. For about 5 minutes. It's grand.

Um. Thats about it. A teensy bit bigger than I expected really. But dont be shy, anybody wants anything, just ask.

Hi. And yay! I don't know that I want copies of any of this, but if we get a chance to watch some of An Evening with Kevin Smith, that'd be cool, so please bring it? (Unless no one else wants to watching it. Um. Maybe I'm saying I want a copy. I don't know. I just woke up? Hi!)

Seconding the interest in watching An Evening with Kevin Smith because, well. Yes. That would rock. And if anyone else wants the BBC Narnia, I can bring it down myself (which would save you schlepping it on an international flight, right?) as I've got both that on DVD and the new LTWATW movie.

Kevin Smith is totally love. Which reminds me, I should check if Clerks 2 has started here yet and try to see it this weekend... *is apparently living under a rock this month or something, so far!*

Hrm. See, so far the only one of his I've really not loved was Jay and Silent Bob Strike Back. Though, yeah, Dante never did much for me either, hrm. I guess time'll tell.

...I had that reaction to the "no ticket" bit in Dogma, and I couldn't believe it because it was a packed theatre and no one else got it.

Yeah, I would agree. And, hrm, good point. And given my dire history at actually remembering to go to the cinema before shows finish their run, I probably will end up seeing it that way. *snerk* (I was a huge X Men fan for, oh, about four-five years, and yet... forgot to go see X3. Oops.)

Yay, thank you! I'd love to see Freaks and Geeks again, and Undeclared.

Cool stuff! Especially Alan Cumming (he's unutterably fab ;o)

I'd love it if you had Carnivale season 2. I've seen the first but not the second...

No worries - Mr Cumming will be making me very happy. Did you ever see the interview where they showed him playing the MC in Cabaret? OH. MY!

If you find any clips let me know - I can't remember which interview it was (might have been a SouthBank show or something like that), but it was fabulous. He was so clear, and the bits of performance just blew me away.

Also, I'm very interested in Nothing but if I'm the only one I can easily acquire it in some other fashion a bit later in the year. Just, you know, for the record and all in case other people do want to see it. :D

Yay! Hewlett-age!! *poings a LOT* And, thank you kindly. Eddie Izzard goes with everything. :D

Hey, I can bring those down no problem, actually - I've got most of them. And I am cursing out CanadaMail at this minute because my copy of Dylan Moran's standup (which I think is even funnier than Eddie) is SOMEWHERE between Calgary and Auckland and, seriously, I WEEP. Because I would love to pimp that at people, even if, okay, it's not exactly slashy. Although there is that one bit about blow jobs... *snicker*

oh, really. i will absolutely bring the ones i have on dvd, then, and they're pretty good for dipping into and out of in odd moments, too, which is handy if other stuff is going on. only thing is my favourite one of his shows i only have on a very degraded tape. must do some dvd hunting later, i think.

i think they just like to keep me on my toes. i get all nervous, and then i get despondent, and then *touch wood* it usually turns up after circling the globe three times (or so i assume from the length of time to deliver it). i hope this pattern will repeat for the third or fourth time, at any rate. because secretly i'm even more despondent than usual since the same parcel is also holding hostage my SGA dvds. it's a judgment on me for trying to be cheap and get free shipping by having them sent to a friend to send on a lot more cheaply, i just know it.

/blathering at length because whee, one week and whoo, Friday!

I am also a person who bitterly resents sleep (wasted time!) and will stay up for stupidly long until she falls over, so... eeeeeeeexcellent. :D

I don't tend to order much but when I do I usually order a bunch and then feed it through a person in the US or Canada to mail it on... plus, bonus, then they get to watch it first and get hooked. Uh. Not that I've pimped people into fandoms like that or anything... ;) But, yay for newly acquired credit cardag!
Mail can be very stressful, yes, would totally agree there.

Oh, man. THat is SO soon, yes. *excited wriggle*

Yes! Just cough up! If you try to get away with things, you pay and pay and pay...

I've always joked that my d/S dvds were sent down by husky from a depot in the Yukon. And then floated down to NZ on an ice floe.

God, so true. Except at the same time, it does accomplish the dual purpose of then letting [livejournal.com profile] katrin watch the stuff I ordered, too, so... heh. (This parcel I'm waiting on had SGA S1, Slings and Arrows S1 and the disc I left at her house in January, because I am a flake and forgot it was still in her computer, oops. Hee.)

HEEEE. Oh, god, it wouldn't surprise me. *imagines and snickers a lot*
