Unfortunately I've recovered from my brief burst of financial optimism, and I'm back to being a no, despite Vaudevilles and her almost-irresistable Starbuck lure. *g* (And hey, that reminds me - it's my turn! Heh.)
While I think of it - and please feel free to screen/email/whatever if you're more comfortable doing so - just wanted to check how you'd prefer to work the accomodation arrangements - I'm assuming Chris and I will stay at her mother's in Welly on the Thursday night for sure, but would you rather we continue to stay there/at a hostel or whatever, or is pulling up a square of carpet and our sleeping bags at the house quite okay? Just wasn't quite sure what the ideal is. /newbie!!
Are you the sort of person who enjoys staying up till all hours and then sleeping on mattresses/couches with like minded individuals (I totally am, but china_shop prefers to take her bad back home, for example)??? Last year everyone stayed over, and it was *awesome*. I do have a very big house. It's not called Stately Luthor Manor for nothing.
Um, I'm the type of person who stays awake all night to chat to fannish people (okay, and other people too, if they're interesting) and spent five weeks in LA sleeping on carpet under an airline blanket (actually nowhere near so bad as it sounds! really!) so I think I can safely say that if you're happy to have us, we're happy to squish on in and giggle into the wee hours. Though also having had a month or so of very minor back problems (apparently sleeping on a mattress that's significantly higher on one side than the other for three months leads to pain. WHO KNEW. *is d-u-m*) I can absolutely empathise with that approach, too. So, um, count us in for Fri and Sat, then, I say speaking grandly for Chris in her absence. :D
(Okay, so my replies aren't ALWAYS longer than the comments they're in reply to. Um. Just... quite often. /verbose)

Yay, so am I! Thanks so much for letting us have carpet space (not to mention the organising stuff). You would not believe the internal flailing I'm having. \o/
I would love to come, but I don't think I'll be able to squeeze it in with other stuff. And here I was looking forward to gloating about the pop conversion. *g*
Still a tentative yes. Still arguing between going to another country for three days (as much as I am omg looking forward to it) and finding something else in said country to pad out the holiday a bit more. Will be going to travel agent soon, will have answer... soonish. Hopefully. If I can make up my mind.
Flights confirmed: I'm arriving Wellington on QF47 14:30 on Tues 26th, staying with yet-to-be-informed rels and friends until Friday night(?whatever works), leaving on QF48 Monday at 16:50.
Still got a futon/mattress/sheepskin/spare corner?
